Personal Blog – Epilepsy and Me
I have suffered from depression for more years than I can remember but although I had visited every doctor under the sun, nothing, including medication, therapy or psychiatric hospitals seemed to help. After being diagnosed with various conditions from dysthymia, ADHD to functional neurological disorder I discovered that I had impaired processing, memory, concentration and these symptoms were making me depressed. After seeing a few more doctors I was diagnosed with frontal lobe epilepsy. I started writing this blog when I was admitted to a hospital to have a five day video EEG – during this time I was not allowed to leave my room. The blog is the story of my journey towards finding a cure for my illness and what I have discovered about myself and other people along the way.
